On January 24, 2013, BSR will participate in a webinar, hosted by 2Degrees, with experts from Heineken and Maersk Line to discuss how working together has led to positive results in sustainable supply chain efforts.

Up until recently it might have been seen as counterproductive for a company to set supply chain goals based on improving its environmental performance. But examples of today’s leading companies have revealed a change in the business climate. Companies like Heineken that broadly embed sustainability in their supply chains, extending to include transportation providers such as Maersk Line, are seeing clear benefits—in both reputation management and in their ability to respond to new regulations.

How do they attain these benefits? The answer turns out to be rather easy—through collaboration. Both companies are active members of the Clean Cargo Working Group, a global, business-to-business initiative dedicated to improving the environmental performance of marine container transport.

Join us for a webinar hosted by partner 2Degrees to learn how:

  • Heineken has improved their shipping-related CO2 emissions in response to consumer (B2C) pressures and ambitions to become the world’s most sustainable brewer
  • Maersk Line has improved their CO2 emissions in response to customer (B2B) pressures and internal sustainability goals
  • Clean Cargo Working Group enables equal exchange between shipping customers and suppliers, development of industry-standard maritime emissions calculations and analysis and benchmarking of ocean carrier performance

Speakers

  • Mads Stensen, Environmental Manager, Maersk Line
  • Willem Jan-Beerthuis, Global Category Buyer Logistics, Heineken
  • Angie Farrag, Project Manager Clean Cargo, BSR
