Agricultural production in China is under pressure from domestic consumers and international companies to meet steadily increasing expectations for environmental and social sustainability. More sustainable agriculture practices can help to mitigate environmental degradation and earn public trust through better traceability and safe, high-quality products. Businesses face the challenge of engaging with their suppliers to improve production, ensure quality and promote more sustainable approaches and methods.
This event is an invitation-only, half-day roundtable for companies to share experiences, identify best practices, and discuss solutions to improving agricultural sustainability in China.
The roundtable will cover two main topics:
- Global trends and challenges in sustainable agriculture supply chains
- Partnering with farm-based suppliers to implement sustainable agricultural practices
- At the roundtable, BSR will share findings from our recent research into sustainable farming practices and a program to provide training to Walmart's Direct Farm suppliers. Participants will also be invited to share their challenges and best practices with their peers.
