POSITION SUMMARY:

Develops and leads a comprehensive clean production program at PVH across brands and regions; facilitates the responsible use of natural resources throughout our supply chain and operations. This will include responsibility around restricted substances and chemicals; energy, water and waste; development of a cotton strategy, and related initiatives.

A critical part of this position will include tracking and reporting on progress both internally and externally. Additional responsibilities include benchmarking, business case development and internal awareness-raising, stakeholder engagement and capacity building, facilitation and management of sustainable pilots/projects, and meeting all mandatory and voluntary requirements applicable to any aspects of our operations. Knowledge of green chemistry/RSL, life cycle assessment (LCA) and greenhouse gas (GHG) and water use measurement and reporting is strongly encouraged.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE JOB:

Strategy, goals and integration into PVH core business
  • Create comprehensive clean production strategy across brands, business units and geographies
  • Facilitate the integration of sustainability goals and initiatives into PVH operations, supply/value chain; contribute to the alignment of business and CSR/clean production strategy
  • Research and recommend current sustainable business choices and develop plans for implementation and evaluation.
  • Develop relevant KPIs
Implementation of key initiatives
  • Responsible for implementation of Restricted Substances List (RSL) including:
    • Current state assessment and benchmarking of RSL across all brands (PVH, Tommy Hilfiger, Warnaco)
    • Develop one common RSL for PVH
    • Roll-out strategy
    • Drive consistency across all brands, geographies and business units
  • Detox/wet processing strategy including water, waste, energy
  • Cotton strategy
  • Internal (management and board) and external supply chain reporting including creation of relevant KPIs
  • Keep abreast of relevant regulatory changes globally and communicate this to internal stakeholders
  • Create synergies with CSR group (e.g., beyond social compliance)
Sustainability Culture – Awareness and Training
  • Promote and raise awareness of sustainability issues and business case across brands, geographies and business units
  • Responsible for internal communications on clean production/sustainability initiatives, performance reporting (KPIs), and success stories from the field
  • Develop and conduct training sessions for key audiences including vendors
  • Help build a “sustainability” culture through proactive activities
Stakeholder engagement/external relations
  • Participate in collaborative industry efforts to build awareness, expertise and long-term solutions (e.g., ZDHC, BCI). Leverage existing industry tools and capacity-building efforts
  • Respond to relevant inbound inquiries

INTERNAL & EXTERNAL CONTACTS:

Internal: Executive team, sourcing team, CSR team, all operating divisions and corporate functions.

External: NGOs, service providers, membership organizations, peer companies, chemical industry, supply chain partners and other stakeholders globally

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Experience:
  • 10+ years of work experience developing/implementing Environmental Sustainability strategy across the supply chain, with a focus on chemicals management and product stewardship
  • Knowledge of key affiliations and influencers in this space
  • Supply chain experience
  • Sustainable Design a plus
  • Strong qualification to perform technical environmental analysis using tools such as Life cycle analysis, GHG inventorying, environmental auditing, EMS implementation
Education:
  • B.S. or Masters in Environmental Sciences, Chemistry or related discipline.
