Position Overview
Salesforce.com’s corporate sustainability team is looking for an excellent communicator and team player to join us as a Sustainability Coordinator. This position will be supporting the corporate sustainability department’s initiatives, with a specific focus on external and internal communications and reporting, and employee engagement. This is an agency temp position/contractor position, paid on an hourly basis.
Key Responsibilities:
The Sustainability Coordinator will primarily support the Sustainability team though:
Internal Communication and Employee Engagement Program Management
- Manage and expand global employee engagement sustainability program, including designing and implementing creative strategies.
- Internal stakeholder engagement and alignment
- Contribute to development and implementation of engagement and operational strategies to champion sustainability throughout the organization.
- Create and track goals and metrics for sustainability engagement.
- Research best practices in sustainability-related employee engagement; propose suggestions for integration into existing strategy.
- Create internal communication materials and campaigns, including website content and social media.
External Communications
- Develop content for external communications on sustainability through researching, writing and editing online communications and other related documents, including presentations, award submissions, blogs, social media and external web pages.
- Assist in development of annual sustainability reporting to external stakeholders
- Assist with the development and execution of tactical Public Relations plans related to the company’s sustainability work.
Other responsibilities as needed – we are a small, agile team, so this position will be expected to jump in wherever needed to help out.
Key Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor degree with supplemental sustainability industry experience or training required
- Demonstrated expertise and passion for sustainability and employee engagement
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Working knowledge of effective framing and messaging design
- Knowledge of or experience in SAAS (Software as a Service)
- Self-starter with ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Ability to thrive in a fast-moving environment
- Familiarity with sustainability rankings, survey and other reporting mechanisms, such as the Carbon Disclosure Project and GRI is a plus.
- Expertise in graphic design (e.g. Adobe Suite), data analysis, salesforce software or program design is a plus.
