“I’m From Headquarters and I Am Here to Help”: Integrating Human Rights at the Operational Level

For many companies looking to implement human rights management systems, bridging the gap between headquarters and operational units proves to be the biggest challenge. How do you ensure consistency while also taking into account the unique circumstances of local operations? How do you turn operational managers into human rights champions? This two-hour interactive workshop will explore activities—including policies, impact assessments, and reporting—that are often mandated by headquarters and implemented at site levels. We will discuss key success factors of coherent implementation of human rights policies, and how to balance global-versus-local tension.
