The “Socioeconomic Impacts of Wireless Technology” report cites a variety of case studies and uses on the adoption of, and trends in, wireless-enabled applications for finance, healthcare, education, and community engagement.

BSR and the Danish Fashion Institute Deliver a Framework for Sustainable Fashion Consumption to EU Presidency and European Commission at Copenhagen Fashion Summit

Copenhagen—May 4, 2012—The NICE Consumer project—a joint initiative led by BSR and the Danish Fashion Institute, which aims to inspire changes in government policies and business practices to help consumers make more sustainable fashion choices—recently released a draft of its “Framework for Achieving Sustainable Fashion Consumption.” The framework outlines the possible roles and actions by consumers, industry, government, and other stakeholders to support sustainable fashion consumption, and was a main topic of discussion at the May 3 Copenhagen Fashion Summit.

BSR, LIMA Release Practical Guide for Licensees on Social and Environmental Compliance

BSR and the International Licensing Industry Merchandisers’ Association (LIMA) released “Good Practices for Complying With Licensors’ Social and Environmental Requirements: A Practical Guide for Licensees,” a new guide designed to help the licensing industry promote positive social and environmental practices among licensors, licensees, agents, suppliers, factories, and retailers. The publication was developed with the Licensing Working Group, which consists of some of the best known and most widely respected companies and organizations in the licensing industry, including BSR and LIMA, as well as Hasbro, NBCUniversal, Time Warner, and The Walt Disney Company.

BSR/GlobeScan Survey: Optimism for Sustainable Business, Need for Integration into Core Business

Results from the “BSR/GlobeScan State of Sustainable Business Poll 2011,” released today at the BSR Conference 2011, show that global businesses remain highly committed to sustainability. For the second straight year, more than eight in 10 respondents (84 percent) are optimistic that global businesses will embrace CSR/sustainability as part of their core strategies and operations in the next five years. BSR and GlobeScan surveyed nearly 500 business leaders drawn from BSR’s global network of nearly 300 member companies.

New Wireless and Sustainability Report Reveals Big Cost Savings and Efficiencies for Transportation, Energy, Agriculture, and Government Sectors

October 11, 2011

An emerging wireless-enabled environment has the potential to drive billions of dollars in energy savings and reshape how American industry, agriculture, and the public sector approach sustainability, according to a report authored by BSR that was sponsored and released today by CTIA-The Wireless Association. In one example cited in the report, wireless-enabled, fleet-management solutions would allow trucking and logistics companies to cut carbon-dioxide emissions by 36 million metric tons annually—the equivalent of removing 6 million passenger vehicles from U.S. roads.

Christine Bader Joins BSR as Human Rights Advisor
