Wei Dong sets the strategic direction for all BSR projects in the emerging global economy of China. In addition to providing counsel to BSR's member companies and their supply chain partners in China, Wei Dong oversees BSR's China Training Institute, which trains factory managers on CSR, health and safety, and responsible human resource practices. His clients have included Ann Taylor, Best Buy, China Mobile, Dell, Hewlett-Packard, Hyatt, IKEA, Levi Strauss & Co., Microsoft, Nordstrom, RamuNico, Wal-Mart, the Walt Disney Company, and the British and U.S. governments.

Prior to joining BSR, Wei Dong worked with the Pentland Group as a Group Business Standards officer for China and Southeast Asia, where he established fair working conditions in contract factories. With almost a decade of manufacturing and high-tech experience, Wei Dong has also served as a labor inspector for the China Labor Department for four years in addition to creating the Participatory Development Appraisal network, an innovative mechanism for ensuring fair working conditions.

Wei Dong holds a M.A. in Asian/Chinese business at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London.
